GC Journeys
Our unique GC Journeys Program will transform your way of thinking and experiencing college. By participating in five inside and outside the classroom transformative experiences during your time at Georgia College & State University, you will step outside of your usual surroundings, gain authentic experiences, solve problems, become a leader, participate in real-world settings and put ideas into action.
First-Year Experience (FYE)
The First-Year Experience is a comprehensive program of events, programs, and activities that assist students in their transition into Georgia College & State University. These persist over a 12-month period and include contact during a prospective student’s senior year all the way through the completion of their first term at GCSU.
First-Year Seminar
This semester-long onboarding seminar for first-year students introduces students to core curriculum, major exploration, strategies for academic success, and the history, culture, and traditions of Georgia College & State University.
First Year Guide
Returning GCSU students who support first-year students in their academic transition to college. Students see their First-Year Guide every week in their first-year seminar course.

Week of Welcome
This is an immersive experience during the official welcome week for GCSU’s first-year students. It showcases the unique and multifaceted culture of Georgia College & State University.
Office of Student Life
The Office of Student Life provides programs, activities, and services that enhance the development of students intellectually, emotionally, culturally, and physically.

Public Safety
GCSU Public Safety is a member of the Georgia Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, the Middle Georgia Law Enforcement Council, the Peace Officers Standards and Training Council and the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. They are here 24/7 to ensure student and campus safety.
